A ping-pong table in a care center, a woody gaze, an Eastern European accent... A fleeting encounter was all it took for everything to change. Between Lourdes, Tarbes, and the Pyrenean peaks, this collection traces in one hundred poetic fragments — sonnets, haikus, letters, prose stories... — the tale of an uncertain and dazzling love dedicated to Idalia.
But under the Pyrenean sky, the beauty of shared moments quickly borders on darker realms. Faced with silence, distance, and the demons of depression, the narrative sinks into the trial of incarceration. From the depths of a cell, writing then becomes an ultimate refuge, a modern lyre of Orpheus reached toward the light in an attempt to win back the absent one.
